A trip to Sioux Falls, SD during the holiday season should include a visit at Falls Park to see the magical light display known as Winter Wonderland. Falls park is the #1 attraction in Sioux Falls, sitting on 123 acres of land with water falls on the Big Sioux River. With over 350,000 twinkly lights, you will definitely leave with the spirit of the season after your visit. Cars line up for blocks to drive through the park to catch a glimpse of the beauty of the season. Falls Park is a free attraction. The display will remain up until January 10, 2021, allowing for plenty of time to make the visit.
After your visit to Falls Park, take the short drive down historic Philips Ave and allow some time to visit one of the city’s newest attractions, the Arc of Dreams. Arc of Dreams towers 85 feet above the Big Sioux River and is an absolute stunning piece of art. It is magical during the winter months, and deserves a repeat visit during the summer as well.
On your way out of the downtown area, you will want to drive past the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Sciences. The Pavilion is the renovated old Washington High School and is home to art galleries, a hands on science center, and two performing arts centers which often bring amazing Broadway performances to Sioux Falls. The large stunning decorated pine tree outside of the building is worth driving by during the holiday season to give you one last jolt of extra holiday cheer.
